Cedar House

Whidbey Island, WA · 2024

A cedar-clad family house oriented to the water and the weather.

Sited on a narrow lot above the sound, Cedar House is a three-volume plan that shelters a courtyard from prevailing winds. The exterior is western red cedar and blackened steel. Inside, rooms step down toward a long window wall facing the water.
